Hiking in high mountains
It is one of the highest mountain experiences of all Austria: Hiking on the Kitzsteinhorn. This mountain peak is part of the Hohe Tauern and with an altitude of 3.203 metres one of Austria´s few glaciers. Also in summer you will find ice and snow here: at the Ice Arena with a snow beach, slippery sides and a play piste bully. Just right next to it green grassland in a high alpine landscape, fascinating rock formations and spectacular views on the National Park Hohe Tauern invite you to a hiking tour in the Alps. The glacier plateau on 2.900 metres above sea level can be easily reached by the funiculars of Kaprun. The Cinema3000 and the National Park Gallery present interesting information and surprising insights. Starting at the funicular station, you can choose one of numerous hiking paths on the Kitzsteinhorn, where you will be able to discover the high alpine flora and fauna. There are also very easy hiking paths for families with children who are out of shape. Those ones who search for the ultimate mountain experience will try to conquer the peak of the Kitzsteinhorn.

- Guided Kitzsteinhorn summit tour (3.203m): Feel the joy after having conquered this mountain peak – with a state qualified mountain guide and fastened to a rope for a climb of 200 altitude metres. Enjoy the unique 360° view! Duration: approx. 5 hours.
