Special events during the Alpine Summer Festival
Many special events such as the Kaprun Cheese Festival, presentations of traditional customs and crafts, as well as the chance to distill schnapps and bake bread with locals bring visitors closer to regional traditions. One mainstay in the calendar is the annual "Bergfest", or Mountain Festival, with traditional its "Ranggel" tournament. "Ranngeln" is a traditional men-only sport similar to wrestling. In addition to this sporting event, musical performances provide entertainment, and delicious food and drink is available.
