The most frequently used route leads over the A8 (Munich – Salzburg). At the Inntaldreieck, you can either travel via Kufstein (A12) and Kitzbühel or take the motorway exit Siegsdorf/Traunstein and the toll-free federal road through Lofer.
Do you need a vignette for traveling by car?
Yes, for the use of the Austrian motorways (e.g., A10 Tauernautobahn or A1 Westautobahn), a vignette is absolutely required. Those traveling via the federal road through Lofer can partially avoid the vignette obligation depending on the route taken.

From the front square of the train station, the postbuses of line 660 regularly operate directly to Kaprun (stop Kaprun Ortsmitte). Alternatively, taxis are available at the Zell am See train station. If available, our shuttle bus will also bring you directly to the hotel door for a fee.

Salzburg Airport (W.A. Mozart) is the closest airport at a distance of about 80 kilometers. Munich Airport (MUC) is about 210 kilometers away, but often offers more international connections.

You will receive this ticket directly at check-in at the hotel Kaprunerhof – either in paper form or digitally in the Zell am See-Kaprun App.
