Stolzkopf – Schaflkopf – Breitkopf
Hiking tip to the "Drei Brüder"
The Drei Brüder are the three mountain masses Stolzkopf, Schaflkopf, and Breitkopf. And these are what you need to conquer on this mountain tour. What awaits you? Besides many challenges on the mountain, you will primarily be rewarded with a dreamlike view of the Hohe Tauern and the Steinerne Meer.
The tour is possible in two stages: You can either hike only to the Erlhofalm or take on the complete crossing of the Drei Brüder in a challenging half-day tour. From Hotel Kaprunerhof to the starting point of the tour, it is just a 15-minute drive.

Directions
The tour starts at the Feriendorf Oberreit at the parking lot by the barrier. From there, a forest road leads steadily uphill through the woods until reaching the alpine area. At the fork in the road, keep left towards Erlhofalm, before a narrow meadow path leads up to the saddle between Breitkopf and Schaflkopf.
From here, the tour becomes more challenging: surefootedness and freedom from vertigo are required. From the saddle, you can reach the summit of Breitkopf to the left and Schaflkopf to the right. Afterwards, the path continues to Stolzkopf and down to Heubergscharte.
Via a forest road, you reach the Heubergalm, before returning along the forest path to the junction Erlhofalm and finally back to the starting point at the parking lot.
