The mountain pastures with their mountain huts invite you to rest and have a break. There is one more special thing about the Schmittenhöhe: It is the biggest artistic area of Europe. There are 23 over dimensional wood sculptures standing all around the hiking area, made by international artists with the idea of creating meeting points between human beings, nature and culture. This is also true for children: With Schmidolin, the smallest and nicest dragon of the whole world, they will have a lot of fun on the Schmittenhöhe. - Herbal hike: every Monday, meeting point 9.45 a.m. at the valley cable car station of the Schmittenhöhe; the hike is free of charge. Duration: approx. 4 hours. The expert botanist will lead you along the High Promenade to the Sonnkogel and tell you all the things worth knowing about the world of plants and flowers.
- Schmidolin´s kids hike: every Monday, meeting point 9.45 a.m. at the valley cable car station of the Schmittenhöhe; the hike is free of charge. Duration: approx. 3 to 4 hours. The hiking guide and the dragon Schmidolin will accompany the children along the Jägersteig trail. Please take good hiking boots and a snack with you!
- Hill farm walk: every Tuesday, meeting point 9.45 a.m. at the valley cable car station of the Schmittenhöhe; the hike is free of charge. Duration: approx. 4 hours. This time you will walk a leisurely pace along the picturesque Pinzgauer Way to the popular Hochsonnbergalm.
